
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…… HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
This is how the year 2020 started for many of us. Happy, motivated, well rested and ready for any challenge this year might bring.. or so we thought.
No one expected the year 2020 to bring so much panic, change and such an unpleasant economic impact across the world.
The year of a pandemic. By the end of the first quarter with most of the world under lockdown, we soon realised that COVID-19 was here to stay. For us, here in South-Africa we knew a nationwide lockdown would cripple our economy even further. Unfortunately many businesses had to close their doors permanently and words such as UIF, retrenchment and relief fund was all of a sudden trending on social media.
It’s sad to see that so many jobs, dreams, hopes and futures have been destroyed by COVID-19 already, and according to the experts the worst is yet to come.
Being an entrepreneur myself I can only imagine what it must feel like to see your dreams and years of hard work being destroyed by something that is unavoidable.
Let’s be the change
We can either give up or get up. We are an extremely strong country with the will power to achieve anything in this world, even if the odds are against us.
We have the determination to persevere and the resilience to never give up. Change is inevitable but we have the ability to adapt. The Sprinbok rugby team was an excellent example of this during the 2019 rugby world cup. They persevered through every challenge and they remained positive regardless of the score or outcome of each game. They listened to the critics and took responsibility for their mistakes, but they never gave up trying. They put the past behind them and remained focused on the next game (challenge). They worked together as a team and ended up to be world champions! #StrongerTogether
These men from our country are world champions, all because of their attitude!
We are in this together and we will get through this together, we will survive together and we will be better than ever when it’s all over.
Let’s work together, let’s support our local businesses, farmers and entrepreneurs. They are in fact the people that provide us with income, food, products and services.
